when they got there someone said there was a man not breathing inside a home. the man died at the scene. they don't know if the death ask related to the -- is related to the original 911 call. authorities released the name of a man who shot a police officer. nathan cook shot an officer in the leg on friday. this was the second incident in which an oakland police officer was shot and wounded in one week. oakland police plan to hold a news conference tomorrow to discuss the shootings. >> one person was injured in a car ash this morning. two cars collided at 2:00 a.m. one person was ejected and seriously injured. police are still looking into what caused the crash. both drivers were going the speed limit and drugs and

alcohol are not a factor. driver who authorities say was evading sheriff's deputies crashed last night while going the wrong way on interstate 80. they tried to flag the driver down but the driver took off. he went north on the southbound lanes and crashed into another vehicle. two were taken to the hospital. the driver ran from the scene and still hasn't been caught. firefighters put out a one alarm fire this morning. it was called in at 5:40 a.m. add at the lehigh southwest cement plant. it took crews two hours to bring the fire under control. nobody was hurt. this is the same lehigh southwest cement plant where an employee shot and killed two co- workers. police have released new surveillance video of a

suspected bank robber. investigators say this man webbed the bank on francisco boulevard. he got away with cash. he is wide, 30, 5'6", 160 pounds with a muscular build. anyone with information about this man is asked to call police. it wasn't the san francisco 49ers that had people excited in oakland today it was the a's. fans saw their team up close and personal. . more than 240 people are dead after flames swept through a nightclub in brazil earlier today. the club was at twice its mack. capacity. >> reporter: firefighters worked to contain a massive fire at a fight club sunday -- nightclub sunday. he says the blaze started at 2:00 a.m. after the insulation caught fire. there was a show going on when flames broke out. authorities said the cause of

gathering -- congrugents in georgia are gathering to pray. >> reporter: ktvu channel 2 news. four people wounded yesterday. the first victim was a bystander who drove through a gun fight before 2:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon. later on, three people were shot around 10:40 p.m. all four victims are in stable condition. authorities in san jose identified a man stabbed and beaten to death last week. he was found thursday night in front of a house. he was taken to the hospital where he died. investigators believe 4-5 people attacked him but no one has been arrested yet. police don't believe this was gang related. families in chicago are

mourning a violent weekend in which seven people were shot and killed, all victims of gun violence. >> totally loss. because ronnie he meant -- he was my only surviving son. >> last night a candlelight vigil called for gun control in which a year where 500 people were killed in that city. police haven't made no arrests yet. senator dianne feinstein admitted her bill to ban assault weapons faces an uphill battle but that doesn't bother her. >> what bothers me is i have seen weapons grown and now in the hands of younger and younger people over these years. i think you reach a point as i said earlier, where enough is enough. >> senator dianne feinstein

take a look at this. this was the scene yesterday on north bound interstate 880 in oakland, in the middle of town. cars stopped traffic and began doing donut. this video was posted to facebook and shows the car spinning for 2 minutes. the drivers then headed north. authorities identified a woman who was hit and killed

the money raised. the daughter of oakland a's catcher has died. the family posted on facebook that the baby died friday of an amuse disease. he played for the a's in 2009 to 2011 and signed a contract with the new york mets a few weeks ago. a tanker accident last year is still able to steer ships in the bay. the tanker was put on administrative leave but the pilot's action did not keep him off of ships. last february he nearly grounded a tanker filled with diesel fuel off richmond. he blames a tugboat pilot for the error. there are reports of secret court hearings in the case of a man convicted of killing a

woman. she is service 60 years for the death but now the hearings are causing speculation that the the ruling might be reversed. he was sentenced and he said he was sorry about her death but he had nothing to do with it. the florida woman acquitted of murdering her daughter filed for bankruptcy. casey anthony owes $800,000 for attorney fees. a court over turned two of the four convictions for misleading authorities and she finished probation so she is free to go where she pleases. paul ryan said today he is not looking ahead to 2016 for a presidential run. >> i think it is premature. i have an important job to do. i represent wisconsin, chairman
